Congratulations to the playoff teams (in seeded order): (1) Amarillo (2) Louisville (3) Hollywood (4) Toledo Amarillo and Louisville are making repeat playoff appearances from 1950. Indianapolis Roy Campanella easily led the league in 2 of the 3 triple crown categories, HR and RBI, and ended up 3rd in AVG, as well as 2nd in 2B. Charlestons Richie Ashburn just missed batting .400, short by 3 hits with 266. Ashburn also led the league in SB with 85. Mud Hens Mike Garcia finished the year with 27 wins, 5 more than the next closest pitcher. Indians Ellis Kinder led the league in saves by a very large margin with 39, 14 more than the next best. Kansas City's Bob Lemon ended up with the leagues lowest ERA (for qualifiers) at 2.64, followed closely by the Gold Sox Ewell Blackwell and the Blues Robin Roberts.
