Locklear went 4 for 5 2 nights later in 10-4 win over Charleston helping Richmond stay at the top of the South. Locklear's teammate J.R. Richard struck out 15 in the 4/24 victory over Louisville. Memphis' Wayne Garrett drove in 6 runs in a 12-0 shutout of New Orleans on 4/23. Garrett had a HR and double in the win. Louisville's Steve Garvey stakes a claim to the batting lead, hitting .364, well ahead of Phoenix's Bob Watson at .351. Pawtucket's Glenn Adams recorded 7 RBI in a huge win against Winnipeg on 5/15. : We've reached the end of May and Iowa is on an unbelievable losing streak of 17 straight games, dropping from just 3 games under .500 on May 12th to 20 games under .500 on June 1. The Oaks are holding their own on the road, but are sending the home fans away disappointed, just 8-25 in their own ballpark. Louisville's Joe Morgan is lighting up the base paths, scoring 15 runs and stealing 14 bases over the last 2 weeks. Morgans teammate Steve Garvey is at the top of the batting race, hitting .359, 7 points ahead of Syracuse's Pete Rose. Richmond's Bob Moose is leading all pitchers with a microscopic 0.82 WHIP and is 3rd in ERA at 2.16 in 100 IP. Pawtucket's Larry Bowa has 14 hits in his last 31 ABs for the Red Sox, lifting his average to .323 and climbing into the top 10 in the batting race. Louisville's Steve Garvey leads the batting race hitting .372, 41 points higher than the next best from Albuquerque's Jose Cardenal and Pawtucket's Rod Carew. Hawaii's Bobby Bonds and Frank Tanana each had great games in week 10. Bonds smoked 3 HRs and drove in 7 in a 10-8 win over Pawtucket on 6/7. Tanana whiffed 16 Oaks on 6/3 in a 6-1 loss to Iowa.
