The batting title is still up for grabs, only .001 difference between Pawtucket's Rod Carew (.332) and Louisville's Steve Garvey (.331), with a whole host of batters just a few points behind. : Richmond, Springfield, Hawaii and Toledo are still in the hunt for the final 2 playoff spots with 2 weeks to go. Phoenix's magic number in the West is 2, and are still climbing towards 110 wins. Richmond is 4 out in the South, still with a chance to catch Louisville. New Orleans' Bucky Dent lifted a grand slam and drove in 6 in a 17-3 shellacking of the Colonels. : Richmond wins the final 6 games to pull even with Louisville in the South, winning the division on head to head tiebreaker with a 12-6 record over the Colonels. Richmond posted a league best 18-10 record in September to close the gap for the division pennant, Louisville reaches the post season with the #5 seed.
