As it turns out, Walter Winchell was right. New Orleans had a great run at the end of the season, but they would not have bumped Hollywood from the playoffs if we had not given up 21 hits to Beaumont in the last game!

yes, 21 hits....but did Beaumont score any runs? Beaumont led the league in Average by a lot....but finished dead last in runs scored. I haven't looked yet, gonna have to check it out.
