All teams will be on full rest, all injuries will be cleared. ALSO sometimes HAL does weird things with rest for SP's so if you want to send me per game starters, I will set them up for you.

Semifinal Games 1 and 2Standings - latorrer0.tripod.com/sombb/1960kp/1961ps/standings1.htmlHighlights: NORTH Divisional Championship - Denver vs. Portland - series tied 1-1 Portland and Denver kicked off the 1961 playoffs with a great 11 inning contest, a Beaver 4-2 victory. The teams took a 2-2 tie into extra innings when PH Pumpsie Green stepped to the plate with 2 runners on a drove a flyball to RF, Bear's RF Ken Hunt misplayed the ball into a 3 base error allowing the game winning runs to cross the plate. Unfortunately for Portland, they lost their lead-off hitter, Richie Ashburn to an 8 game injury in the 6th inning. Denver bounced back in game 2 thanks to a terrific performance on the mound by Lew Burdette. Burdette silenced the Beavers bats into the 7th inning and, with help from Lew Krausse and Don McMahon, leveled the series at 1 game apiece. The Bears scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning and added a 3rd on a solo HR by Sherm Lollar in the 7th, Lollar had 2 of the 3 RBI's on the day. SOUTH Divisional Championship - Richmond vs. Phoenix - series tied 1-1 Phoenix opened up a close game 1 in the 6th inning in the series opener at Richmond. The Giants had a 3-2 lead going into the 6th when Harmon Killebrew smashed a solo HR, followed by RBI hits by Earl Battey and Curt Flood. The extra runs were plenty for Dick Donovan who tossed a CG 6-hitter for the win. Phoenix had a productive 6th inning once again in game 2, scoring 3 runs and taking a 3-1 lead and set their sights on a sweep in Richmond and a 2-0 series lead. Bill Stafford pitched a solid 6 innings but the Braves got to him in the bottom of the 7th inning. Julian Javier singled and Woodie Held walked to put runners in scoring position with 1 out when Don Zimmer stepped to the plate and launched a rocket over the wall for a 3 run HR and the eventual game winning run for the Braves. Semifinal Games 3, 4, and 5Standings - latorrer0.tripod.com/sombb/1960kp/1961ps/standings1.htmlHighlights: NORTH Divisional Championship - Denver vs. Portland - DEN leads 3-2 Denver stormed into Portland and rang up two quick victories in games 3 and 4, by the scores of 6-3 and 4-2. The Bears were led offensively by Mickey Mantle and Orlando Cepeda who combined for 5 HR, 8 RBI and 5 RS in the two games; and by a corp of relief pitchers that allowed 1 run in 8 innings pitched. Portland had their opportunities but left 18 runners on base in the combined losses. Facing elimination in game 5, the Beavers jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 5 innings thanks to 2 HRs by Willie Mays (a grand slam and a solo shot). The Beaver lead didn't last long as the Bears struck back and tied the game scoring 3 in the 6th and 2 in the 7th knotting the game at 5. The damage in the 7th was done without a hit thanks to 4 consecutive walks and a HBP. With the momentum clearly belonging to Denver, Portland battled back in the 8th scoring 2 runs with the ball never leaving the infield (an infield single, a walks, 2 errors and a passed ball) and securing a trip back to Denver for game 6. SOUTH Divisional Championship - Richmond vs. Phoenix - PHX leads 3-2 Phoenix took advantage of their home field and pitching mound throwing three strong games, allowing 4 R and stranding 25 Braves in back to back to back complete games by Billy Hoeft, Hal Brown, and Dick Donovan. Hoeft and Donovan benefited from good run support and recorded victories in games 3 and 5, but Richmond's Jim Bunning was up to the task in game 4 and out dueled Brown in a terrific 1-0 pitchers duel. Rocky Colavito drove in Roberto Clemente in the 1st inning for the Braves and that's all Bunning needed, spreading out 4 hits and 2 walks in the complete game shutout. The teams head back to Richmond for game 6 with the Braves facing elimination. Frank Lary rested the Bears bullpen pitching a complete game, spreading out 8 hits and 4 walks. At the plate, all of the Bears position players scored at least 2 runs each and and had a hit, compiling 19 hits and 9 walks in total. Ken Hunt lead the way with a HR, a double, 4 RBI and 2 RS. SOUTH Divisional Championship - Richmond vs. Phoenix - PHX wins 4-3 Richmond took advantage of the home field and fought off elimination in game 6, a closely contested 3-1 victory for the Braves. Norm Siebern provided a late solo HR to give the Braves bullpen an insurance run allowing Don Ferrarese and Terry Fox to close out the win for starter Chet Nichols. The Braves suffered to costly injuries in the game, losing C Elston Howard and 2B Julian Javier for the series ending game 7. Game 7 was a classic. 11 innings of excitement, clutch pitching and plenty of offense. The Giants and Braves combined for 15 runs and 28 hits in the contest, that was knotted at 3 after 9 innings. The Braves jumped out to an early 3-0 lead with runs in the 1st and 3rd innings, only to have the Giants come back with single runs in the 5th, 6th, and 7th. Tied at 3 going into the 10th, both offenses exploded for 4 runs in their turns at the plate, highlighted by a clutch 2 out single by Siebern in the bottom of the inning to push the game into the 11th. The Giants rallied again in the top of the 11th with a walk by George Altman, a base hit by Eddie Mathews, and the game winning 2 out single by Billy Williams. Don Nottebart delivered a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the 11th to close the game and record the win. Phoenix battled back from 2 run deficits twice in the game, and pushed the Bears into the 10th inning. Denver didn't wait long retake the lead in extras thanks to Mickey Mantle and his leadoff walkoff HR in the 10th. The blast was Mantle's 6th HR of the post season. Jim Gentile provided the rest of the offense for Denver in the game with 3 HRs and 4 RBI. Game 2 was close but one sided in the Bears favor, with Denver scoring a run in 4 of the 1st 5 innings. Phoenix took 7 innings to get to Denver's Lew Burdette, scoring a run in the 7th, but stalled there and ended up on the short end of the 4-1 score. Mickey Mantle had 2 more HRs (8 in the post season) and 3 RBI in the Bears victory. The game looked like a pitchers duel early on with Norm Bass and Bill Stafford taking a 1-1 game into the 5th. In the bottom of the 5th the Giants blew the lid off the game with a 6 run inning, set off by a Grand Slam by Eddie Mathews, his 2nd of the game after a solo blast in the 1st. The teams tallied 12 more runs in the next 3 innings on the way to a 11-9 Phoenix win. Tony Kubek was the hot hand at the dish for Denver, with a HR and a triple, driving in 2 and scoring twice. Mickey Mantle recorded his 9th post season HR for the Bears. Frank Lary spread out 8 hits over 7 innings for the Bears, only allowing 1 Giant to cross the plate on the way to a 5-1 Denver victory. Mickey Mantle continued to dominate at the plate, smashing 2 more HRs (11) and driving in 3. Dick Lemay pitched a solid two innings in relief of Lary to secure the win and tee up the Giants for elimination. Phoenix responded to the 3-1 deficit in game 5, exploding for 14 runs on 15 hits in a 14-2 blow out win. Dick Donovan recorded his 3rd victory of the post season in a 4 hit CG outing. Jerry Lumpe anchored the offense for the Giants, scoring 3 times, driving in 2 on 4 hits. Mickey Mantle homered once again, his 12th driving in his 17th RBI. Phoenix scored 3 in the 3rd and 2 in the 5th to post 5-1 and extended it to an 8-2 lead in the 8th. Denver rallied with 3 in the bottom of the 8th to close the score to 8-5, but couldn't push any more runs across the plate against Don Nottebart, who pitched 2 solid innings in relief. Earl Battey had 3 RBIs for the Giants, Mickey Mantle homered for the Bears (his 13th), and Jim Archer recorded the win with 7 strong innings. On a down note for Phoenix, RF Billy Williams was lost in the 5th inning due to an injury, unavailable for the title deciding game 7. In game 7, the Giants and Bears battled behind great performances from starting pitchers Bill Stafford and Frank Lary, in a game that was never more than 1 run apart. The Giants scored in the top of the 1st on a ground ball by Eddie Mathews that drove in George Altman from third after a triple. Frank Lary helped his own cause in the 5th with a clutch 2 out base hit to tie the game, followed in the 6th with a HR by, yep, you guessed it, Mickey Mantle, to give the Bears the lead 2-1. The lead was short lived thanks to George Altman's RBI base hit in the 7th to tie the score. Both teams had chances in the 8th, but only Denver was able to cash in. In the top of the inning, Harmon Killebrew led off with a double, but was stranded there when Eddie Kasko's HR5/Fly6-20 ended up in Mantle's glove (13). In Denver's turn at bat in the 8th, Jim Gentile delivered a 2 out base hit driving in Ken Hunt with the game winning run. The Bears brought in Don McMahon to close the game in the 9th and bring home the 1961 Championship.
