Hey Rob, nice forum setup!
Question re: league stats by team: The bunting and baserunning pages only show 7 teams -- is this a display issue or a software bug?

Hey Rob, nice forum setup! Question re: league stats by team: The bunting and baserunning pages only show 7 teams -- is this a display issue or a software bug? Terry I'll check tonight, I may have a divide by 0 error somewhere, usually clears on its own 2nd week of games, will double check.

One of my top batters, Sid Gordon, took a day off on April 22 for no apparent reason. Why did he not play?

One of my top batters, Sid Gordon, took a day off on April 22 for no apparent reason. Why did he not play? It looks like he is sitting against reverse RHP. I checked your CM and your reverse lineups are blank. I did a test on this and it looks like HAL does NOT use the primary lineup as a default against the reverse lineups if the reverse is blank. He makes up his own. I will copy your primary lineups to the reverse lineups, hopefully that will get Sid in the game every day. He also sat 4/15 and 4/16, but you won all three of the games he missed, not that HAL really knows anything! LOL Rob

OK, after 23 games, Willie Mays was hitting .085. He then went on a hot streak and hit almost .500 for 4 games. I'm looking forward to seeing more of that! The first 23 games were pretty painful!

The Mud Hens will not having a player of Mays' ability are lingering near the bottom of the standings. Looking forward to better things over the next few days of games.

Is there a doctor in the house? With Musial. Slaughter, and one of our catchers injured, the Stars have lost 3 of the last 4 games. Medic! Medic!

Congrats to Amarillo for moving into first place. The injury-riddled Stars hit their first slump of the season and dropped to second. In the immortal words of Satchel Paige, though, "Don't look back. Something might be gaining on you."

Mud Hens cannot score runs. Hurry get your victories while the scoring drought lasts.

In a different thread, Rob mentioned the game in which Musial went 6-for-6. In that same game, my pitcher, Ned Garver, went 4-for-5 and raised his BA to .315. :-)

Pelicans GM Steve Roman was quoted during his weekly press conference today
"The N.O. Pelicans recently topped the .500 win percentage mark, something they never achieved in their miserable 1950 season. You’ll remember that last season saw them reach .500 with marks of 26-26, 27-27 and 38-38, only to see them lose the next game every time and ultimately finish 15 games under .500. The next stretch of games marks an important part of the season for the Pelicans. After climbing to 3 games over .500 on June 21, they are currently mired in a three game losing streak. Will they prove a tougher bunch than last year’s group? There were rumblngs in the clubhouse last year that some players had given up on the season, something not hard to believe when you consider their 18-27 limp to the finish line. For the time being, New Orleans fans are excited about this year’s club."

Toldeo (AP) – The Mud Hens faithful are scratching their heads wondering what happened to the bats. Only Don Lenhardt is slugging over .400 with 11 HR and 45 RBI. The popular Yogi Berra is doing better of late but still as an OPS under .700. Left fielder Dale Mitchell has been a bright spot and has recently moved in the starting lineup replacing the slumping Pete Reiser.
What the Hens really need is to find a way to pitch Mike Garcia every day. Garcia has been steady and untouchable most of the season. With a no-hitter to his credit Garcia leads the league in wins despite a lack of scoring.
“We are really looking forward to playing of the road.” said skipper Jeff Kloster. “We just have trouble scoring at home.” The Mud Hens schedule is back loaded the road games and the skipper is looking for a late season surge. “You better watch out when the Mud Hens come-a-calling” Kloster laughed. Given their current place in the standings I don’t think the rest of the league is going to worry about a visit from the hitless Mud Hens.
