Week 1Standings - stratomaticnation.com/sombb/1960kp/1969/standings.htmlHighlights: Plenty of offense in week 1, and a smattering of pitching. 7 different hitters launched 2 HRs in a game. Willie McCovey (MON), Jim Northrup (TID), Lee May (DEN), Al Ferrara (POR), Willie Horton (TID), Harmon Killebrew (PHX), and Rico Petrocelli (RCH) all had multi home run games with Killebrew compiling 6 for the week. Buffalo's Denny McClain was able to find some success from the mound, striking out 12 on 4/7 against Portland in a 2-0 win. Week 4Standings - stratomaticnation.com/sombb/1960kp/1969/standings.htmlHighlights: Toledo and Tidewater end the week with 4 game winning streaks and at the top of their respective divisions. The Tides have the best record in the league at 18-9, 1 game ahead of Phoenix and 2 ahead of Louisville. The Hens are at 16-11 in the North and have a 3 game lead over Buffalo and Denver. Louisville's Tom Seaver has raised his record to 6-1, tops in wins for all pitchers, coming off of 4 wins in a row including 2 CG victories. Seaver is getting great support at the plate from Tommie Agee and Carl Yastrzemski who have paired up for 8 HRs and 18 RBI in their last combined 58 ABs. Week 5Standings - stratomaticnation.com/sombb/1960kp/1969/standings.htmlHighlights: Toledo has extended their winning streak to 10 games, and has increase the gap over the rest of the North to 6 games. Tidewater's Willie Horton is making contact with everything he's pitched over the last 2 weeks. Horton has an 11 game hitting streak, leads the league in batting at .368, and leads all hitters in RBI with 38 for the South leading Tides. Richmond's Rico Petrocelli crushed 3 HRs against Portland on 5/8, scoring 4 runs and driving in 5 in the Braves 7-6 win. Petrocelli's final HR proved to be the game winner, breaking a 6-6 tie in the bottom of the 8th. Denver's Ken Tatum has been called on 16 times in relief this season, picking up 9 saves along the way for the Bears. Week 6Standings - stratomaticnation.com/sombb/1960kp/1969/standings.htmlHighlights: Tidewater tumbles from the top of the South, losing 8 of 10 and getting passed by Louisville and Richmond. Yes, the Colonels are back at the top of the South once again. Montreal battles back from an 8 game losing streak at the beginning of May by going 12-2 since May 3, closing Toledo's lead down to 3 games. Richmond's Gaylord Perry secured a 4-2 win over Tidewater with the seasons first 1 hitter. Ron Santo's HR turned out to be the only hit for the Tides in the loss. Perry survived 3 Braves errors on the way to his 5th straight victory. Louisville is riding Tom Seaver's arm to the top. Seaver leads the league in Wins (8), ERA (1.90) and WHIP (0.87). Phoenix has strung together 5 consecutive wins this week, powered by the leagues best offense, and closes to 2 games behind Louisville in the South. Toledo's Bob Gibson and Mickey Lolich continue to rack up the Ks, each are within a handful of 100 on the year. Montreal's Jose Pagan and Rusty Staub have been on fire the last 10 games, pairing up for 30 hits in 63 ABs, 7 HRs and 22 RBIs. Richmond's Bill Hands has pitched terrific back to back outings, allowing 6 hits over 2 complete game victories for the Braves. On the way to the 16-1 win, Denver collected 26 hits, led by Lee May's 5 for 6 day at the plate. Phoenix's Harmon Killebrew is halfway to 100 RBI with 50. Phoenix drew even with Louisville during the week, ending just 1 game behind the Colonels as Week 9 completed. Vancouver's Blue Moon Odom is the first to reach 10 wins, collecting more than 1/3rd of the Mounties wins so far, picking up 11 QS out of 16 GS. Charleston is working their way back up the chart in the South, 1 game below .500 thanks to the bats of Willie Stargell and Rico Carty. Stargell is 12-27 with 15 RBI in his last 10 games. Carty is 13-29 in that same span with 14 RS. Charleston also has the batting leader helping their cause, Leo Cardenas, batting .335 for the Senators.
